Shout out time!!! 🎉 Great work students!

P. E. brought out the parachute today and it is a hit! Click the like button if you remember playing with the parachute in elementary school! #itsagreatdayatUSJ

USJ T-shirts are on sale now through September 15th! We'd love for all of our student to purchase a shirt for field trip days! All orders are due by Friday, September 15th!

P. E. Dojo stick winners for the week! Classes can earn points by the way they behave in the gym as a class and on Friday whichever class has the most points wins! The winners get to play first everyday the following week, which is a big deal!
This weeks winners were the homerooms of Moultrie, Dansby, Reese, Helms, Anderson, and Pope!

Mrs. Powell's class reviewed division today by listening to the read aloud, When the Doorbell Rang, and solving division problems with cookies. Afterwards they got to enjoy a special treat!

Mrs. Helms' social studies classes have been researching and making posters so they can teach their class about their Native American Region. They can't wait to teach on Monday!

It's shout-out Friday and Tiger Football Day so you know it's a #greatdayatUSJ 😃

We look forward to Grandparent's Day each year!

Mrs. Powell's class got out their jitters by reading First Day Jitters and drinking jitter juice!

Today our teachers enjoyed participating in collaborative learning of the Alabama New Core Teaching Standards led by our District’s Curriculum Coordinator, Mr. Hester.

Please read these important traffic notes and try to familiarize yourself with these temporary routes.

Today our math and intervention teachers participated in "Do the Math" Professional Development. These teachers enjoyed digging deep into the math intervention program in preparation to help our students in math.

We loved meeting all of our new 3rd graders and seeing our 4th and 5th graders again! We have missed you! Here are a few snapshots from our open house! If you took a photo at one of our booths or around campus, please post it in the comments!

ATTENTION:
Hopefully you received the letter below if you came to open house today! Due to construction in the front of the school, we have to make some temporary changes to our drop off and dismissal procedures.
The most important thing to note is that 3rd grade car riders will begin dismissing at 2:40 p.m. from the SIDE of the gym on "Front Street" .
5TH GRADE parents: please do not arrive before 3:00p.m. to get in the pick up line so that we can allow all third graders to be dismissed first.
If you have a 4th or 5th grade student, they will also be dismissed early with the 3rd grade car rider. Traffic maps will be posted soon. Please share this post!
