
Law Lamar, president of Friends of Hale County Foundation, helps meet the needs of so many classrooms through helping teachers. Mrs. April Clements is so thankful to be chosen as one of these teachers. Today, he came to USJ from Birmingham with Chromebooks, library books, and a check for C-pen Readers for Mrs. Clements and her classroom.

Our PTO Fundraiser kicks off today and all orders/money should be turned in by October 3rd! Students should be bringing home their fundraising packets this afternoon. Attached is the link to the video explaining everything you need to know about the fundraiser. There will also be a letter that should answer all your questions!

The DHS Homecoming game will be on September 29th. We will show our school spirit by having dress-up days that whole week! The theme for Homecoming is "Blockbuster Movies".


Mrs. Brown's 5th grade math classes got some hands on learning last week! They are place value experts!

Popsicles with PTO!
Thank you PTO volunteers for providing a popsicle to every student during recess today! What a tasty treat!






We are starting our ecosystems in 5th grade. Thank you to those who sent in 2 liter bottles. We have cut them up and added some rocks, soil, and grass
seeds. Stay tuned for the next step!






DHS Homecoming shirts are on sale now through September 19th. Order forms are being sent out. Don't forget our USJ shirt orders are due by Friday, August September 15th.

P. E. Dojo stick winners for the week! Classes can earn points by the way they behave in the gym as a class and on Friday whichever class has the most points wins! The winners get to play first everyday the following week, which is a big deal!







Duty free lunches in full swing today! Thank you to all of the volunteers who came in supervised. The children love it, and the teachers appreciate it even more!
