Tonight's game vs. Jemison will be varsity only. The varsity girls will play at 4:00 followed by the varsity boys. We hope to see you there!


DHS will operate on a 7-period day on Thursday, January 23. Students will be released at 3:05 p.m. Thank you for your understanding.


Good News! Demopolis City Schools will return to normal operations tomorrow, January 23, 2025. While we did not get the snow we were expecting, we are thankful for this time to allow students to be out of the cold as well as letting this Flu virus run its course.
Thursday and Friday Westside, USJ, and DMS will be administering the practice ACAP test. Please make sure your student is present. We will see you tomorrow!!


Demopolis City Schools will be closed Tues, January 21 and Wed, January 22 for the possibility of winter weather and freezing roadways.
Students will return Thursday, January 23.

Due to the potential winter storm, Governor Ivey has declared a state of emergency for our area, Tuesday, Jan. 21 and Wednesday, Jan. 22.
Demopolis City Schools campuses and offices
will be closed both days.
E-learning work will be assigned for Tuesday only.
Students will return to school Thursday, January 23.

Due to the forecast of snow and freezing road conditions Tuesday, January 21, 2025,
DCS will conduct a Virtual/ E-Learning Day.
All schools will be closed. Students should have received assignments (packets for elementary and online for secondary) Friday.
Administration will monitor the road conditions for Wednesday and will communicate through text/phone/social media if any closure is needed for Jan. 22.

Monday, January 20 , DCS will observe the Martin Luther King Jr holiday. All campuses and offices will be closed. Students will return to school Tuesday, January 21.
The DCS administration is monitoring the weather closely for Tuesday and Wednesday. Families will be notified via social media, text, and phone for any closure announcements Monday.



Congratulations to DHS Juniors and Seniors who received their skid-steer certification. Thank you, Skills for Success and Wallace Community College Selma, for providing students with the opportunity for this training.



The flu is here and going around! Please make sure students with a 100 fever or higher are kept at home to help stop the spread of the virus. Also, remind your students to cover coughs/ sneezes and wash their hands.

Tonight's basketball games at Montevallo will start at 4 pm. Only varsity girls and varsity boys will play. Tomorrow night's home game against Francis Marion has been rescheduled for January 28.


Due to the threat of freezing road conditions in the morning, and out of an abundance of caution, DCS will conduct a Virtual/ E-Learning Day tomorrow, Friday, January 10.
All schools will be closed.
Students should receive assignments for the day through their learning managements systems (Clever, Schoology, Google Classroom, etc.) or packets. Please stay safe.


There is a possibility of winter weather across West Alabama Friday. DCS administrators are keeping a close watch on weather forecasts with constant updates from the national weather service and Marengo County EMA. We expect to announce a decision before school dismisses today on whether there will be any delays or closures Friday. Student and staff safety is always a top priority.
School closure announcements will be made via social media, calls, and texts. Please stay weather aware.
