Demopolis City Schools will be closed today, Monday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. Faculty and students will return to school Tuesday, November 12.

Tomorrow, November 5, 2024, please vote YES for the Demopolis City Schools - 5 mill tax renewal. Note: This is NOT a new tax. Demopolis has been paying this one for 30 years and it has to be voted on to be renewed for another 30 years.
This tax provides approximately $1,000,000.00 per year for the DCS school system. Many of the athletics' expenses (maintenance, fields, some coaching stipends, etc), as well as facilities (all buildings) maintenance are provided through this tax since the State Department of Education does not allocate those type expenses. It also provides funds to help pay for teachers that are not funded by state allocations.
Please share this information with your family, friends, neighbors, churches, groups, etc. We NEED this 5 mill tax to be renewed.
Don't forget we FALL back in the morning! Time change happens at 2:00 am Sunday!
The administration at Demopolis High School would like to make our families aware about an incident that occurred today at DHS.
The Demopolis Police Department did remove a student from campus, however, this was because of a non-violent issue. DHS students were not in harms way at anytime.

Monday's October Board Meeting was filled with special recognitions! Derrick Hester, Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator, presented certificates of recognition to SEVEN DCS students for achieving a perfect score on the Math portion of the ACAP. Congratulations to these students, their teachers, math coaches, administration, and parents for helping them reach this success! Next Mr. Hester recognized the elementary school reading coaches, teachers, and administration for their state designation as an Alabama Science of Reading Spotlight District. This is huge accomplishment and honor for Demopolis City Schools! #TheDemopolisDifference #excellence
