Christmas will be here in just a few days! We wanted to share with you a little project Westside had going before we let out for the holidays.
Points for Presents
Santa got with Coach Bradley and asked him to come up with a way to help send gifts to underprivileged kids. Coach Bradley and Coach Oates came up with several games for the students in their PE classes to earn points over the course of the week. Every point they earned went to helping Santa make these presents. The kids at Westside earned nearly 4,000 points which was equal to roughly 200 presents. Every morning Westside elves (faculty) would drop off presents in the gym so the students could see the number growing as they earned more points. The culmination of their points earned was on Wednesday during the Great American Elf Pull Off (tug of war). What a fun and giving week it was to watch the students get so excited about helping other kids!
